EuroNet at Global Public Health Week 2026: Managing the Infodemic

During Global Public Health Week 2026, EuroNet MRPH co-organised an interactive youth session with the WHO Youth Council on one of the defining challenges of modern public health: the infodemic.

Held on 9 April 2026, the session tackled infodemic management in practice: how mis-, dis- and mal-information spread; social listening to understand what communities are actually saying; and prebunking and debunking as tools to build resilience against false health narratives. Participants worked through the material in facilitated breakout groups, supported by experts including colleagues from the WHO Immunization team.

The session reflects a growing strand of EuroNet’s work: equipping the next generation of public health professionals not just to produce evidence, but to communicate it well in a noisy information environment.

Our thanks to the WHO Youth Council and the facilitating experts, and to every resident who took part.
