Burden and quality of life in caregivers of children with schizophrenia
This systematic review aims to quantify the burden that caregivers experience when caring for a child affected by schizophrenia. A diagnosis of schizophrenia poses long-term challenges, not only to the patient but also to the caregivers. We will define burden and quality of life in terms of mental health, social life and economic stability. An international group of Euronet members appraises the available literature and will give an overview of the research conducted to date.
