Research

General overview

EuroNet MRPH advocate and promote indipendent research in public health among public health residents.

The advantages of opening or conducting a Research Group with EuroNet MRPH are:

  • the possibility to join an international network of residents sharing your interests;
  • the possibility to find international collaborators which may be inspiring and can boost your competencies;
  • the possibility to be supported in the research by the Research Lead or the Research Team;
  • the opportunity to conduct research in an indipendent way.

Here are the criteria EuroNet Research Group should respect:

Coordinators and Supervisors:

Every research project should have a coordinator and is carried on by a working group.

The working group coordinator should be a resident in Public Health and more than one group coordinator is allowed.

It is recommended that every research project has a supervisor, who can be an experienced public health resident or a public health field related specialist.

It is not mandatory for a coordinator or for a supervisor to be part of the Network, but it should be declared in advance.

Coordinators and supervisors of the Research Groups should refer to and keep in contact with the Research Lead of EuroNet MRPH. The Research Lead should have access to the Research Group (e.g., be in the Whatsapp Group of the Research Group).

Participants:

All the residents in public health could join an Euronet MRPH Research Group. Non-resident, non-public health resident and residents from countries outside the EuroNet MRPH network are allowed to participate to research groups, but their participation must always be declared in advance.

All the EuroNet members taking part in the research project should be acknowledged according to ICMJE authorship criteria.

Publication:

If a scientific publication is submitted, the affiliation of all residents in Public Health taking part in the project must be “EuroNet MRPH”.

Conflict of interest:

All the participants, coordinators and supervisors in an EuroNet Research Group should have no commercial conflict of interest.
